Five Simple Steps
Please follow these simple steps for in-home paternity testing:
- Determine who are available for testing.
-
Usually the mother, child, and alleged father are testedwith Genesys, participation of the mother is not necessary to obtain conclusive results, but it is helpful with analysis. There is no additional charge to test the mother.
-
Please be aware that some companies will require you to pay an additional fee to test the mother—and if a motherless test proves inconclusive, they will ask for the mother to be tested with an even higher fee.
- Order your free DNA sample collection kit online.
-
You will be asked for a shipping address; the kit will be sent to that address in a plain, unmarked envelope to protect your privacy.
-
The kit will contain enough swabs for the number of persons you specify on the order page.
-
You have the option to order a free kit that contains swabs and instructions for collecting samples, or to pay the full test fee that covers everything involved in the test, depending on your specific situation.
- Collect samples using buccal swabs.
-
In the kit, you will find envelopes containing swabs for each tested party. The swabs look like cotton Q-tips, but are made of a special material called Dacron.
